Terry Murphy has spent over thirty years in marketing and
corporate management (Procter & Gamble, Bostik, and Hillsdown Holdings
plc). His experience ranges from fast moving consumer goods to industrial
consumables, capital goods and public, professional, and private sector service
provision. In addition to holding posts at Main Board level for nearly ten
years, his consultancy work has taken him into a wide range of organisations.
This breadth has enabled him to take the widest view of organisational and
management development needs - particularly in small to medium sized
enterprises.
He has led a number of business turnarounds - the common
denominator being that people think, act and behave differently. As a result he
has gained a special insight into the need for inspired leadership, business
sustainability, effective teamwork and people-centric approaches to managing
change. Client relationships have ranged from short-term contracts to, in
several instances, associations that have extended from 5 to 15+ years.
As a consultant he has extended his management and marketing work
to the professions in the U.K. (legal, architectural and education) and across
a wide range of manufacturing and service clients in Australia, Europe and the
USA. This has included adapting the role of the 'professional partner' to the
needs of managing a service business, introducing effective management
processes in educational establishments where time for managing is at a
premium, and developing project management techniques that can be effective
within highly creative, unstructured, fast growing and frenetic organisations.
Terry has been the primary developer of The Achievement Network
concept and business in 8 countries across the world. This has entailed Change
Management, Team Development and associated corporate management consultancy
with OEM's, service industries, care and public service organisations and the
professions in the U.K., Eire, Sweden, North America, Australia, Pacific Basin,
Japan, and South Africa. For further information, please go to

He has written a number of change and development processes all
based on common sense and practicality. These focus on achieving goals in
harmony with other colleagues on-time, within budget, and to the desired
quality standard. In 1991 he co-authored a book on team development - A Team
of Equals.
His consultancy has also involved a number of marketing projects -
mainly in small to medium sized companies, professional practices, public
service organisations and the education sector. These have been focused on
brand and corporate identity, brand equity, product and brand management, and
sales effectiveness.
He is currently developing an affordable coaching model based on
group learning. |
