Competitive Strength Report (CSR)

Responsibility for the performance of the whole organisation

The Chief Officer (Executive Chair, CEO, MD, Owner, Director, General Manager, Senior Partner) always completes the questionnaires and provides a context for the exercise and focus points for readers when the report is issued.

At least one other person also completes the questionnaires. This is to ensure there is an internal comparative dynamic - a second view that confirms the Chief Officer's view or provides an alternative perspective. We encourage you to consider seeking the contributions of up to 7 others in order to canvass the widest views and influences on the performance of the organisation. We limit the total inputs to 8 (Chief Officer plus 7 others) in order to avoid information overload and diluting clarity.

We also encourage you to think outside your top team and consider including a strategic partner, supplier, distributor or advisor.

All contributors must have a stake in the overall performance of the organisation and/or a direct organisation-wide role in achieving its goals.
